New Ethos Nottingham Receives a £500 Award from the Lidl Community Fund
We at New Ethos Nottingham are thrilled to announce that we have received a £500 award from the Lidl Community Fund. This money will be used to purchase a fridge freezer, and hopefully, a fridge as well, to ensure that all frozen food donated from Lidl is stored correctly and remains safe for our service users. This will allow us to make sure that we will maintain food safety standards.
We are incredibly grateful to the Lidl Community Fund for providing this award. This is a huge help to us and our service users.
Lidl GB wants to play its part in tackling hunger in the communities they serve. Lidl believe that one of the most effective ways to do this is by further enabling the charitable organisations (just like ours New Ethos Nottingham) we work with to carry out their vital work. That’s why launching the Lidl Community Fund; is a £500,000 fund dedicated to supporting our community partners to help those experiencing food poverty.
The fund is to be used for the purposes of helping to tackle hunger in local communities and grants are available to charities and community groups in three tiers:
1. Emergency grants (£200) To address immediate issues, such as increased demands for food parcels 2. Standard grants (£500) For securing continued improved access to food (e.g. improving food storage capacity) New Ethos Nottingham has managed to secure Tier 2.
3. Large Grants ( up to £5,000) For the creation of long-term benefits (e.g. refurbishment of food preparation areas or premises)
We also want to give Neighbourly a mention as the connection was possible because of them we have been working in collaboration with them since 2021. We also share our surplus with the local community on a weekly basis.

We are extremely thankful to have been chosen for this award and it could not have come at a better time. This award will take a lot of pressure off of us and will allow us to focus on providing the best possible support/storage for our service users.
The money awarded to New Ethos Nottingham will help to make a lasting difference in the lives of those transitioning out of the criminal justice system to #empowerchancetochange
