New Ethos Nottingham: Updated Criteria for Supported Temporary Accommodation

New Ethos Nottingham: Updated Criteria for Supported Temporary Accommodation

At New Ethos Nottingham, we are committed to providing safe and supportive temporary accommodation for individuals facing various challenges. We understand the importance of establishing clear criteria to ensure a suitable and conducive environment for all residents. In this blog post, we are thrilled to share our updated criteria, focusing on key factors such as substance misuse, risk level, homelessness, demographics, and eligibility for benefits. Join us as we detail the criteria and emphasize our commitment to offering a supportive housing solution.

1. Substance Misuse Criteria:

To maintain a safe and supportive environment, we require individuals to have low substance misuse. This means no Class A Drug use and no synthetic Cannabinoid use. Additionally, individuals must have been abstinent for a minimum of 6 weeks in the community.

2. Risk Level Assessment:

To ensure the well-being of all residents, we assess the risk level of potential residents. We do not accept individuals with charges for arson or sex offenses/pedophilia. We also prioritize individuals with low mental health issues, creating a balanced and supportive community.

3. Homelessness and Judicial System Connection:

We aim to assist those facing homelessness or sofa surfing by offering a temporary housing solution. Applicants must have a local connection and be in touch with the judicial system, facilitating a smoother transition into our supportive accommodation.

4. Demographic Focus:

Our current focus is on male individuals between the ages of 21 and 50 who are ex-offenders. We recognize the unique challenges faced by this demographic and strive to provide a tailored support system to aid their reintegration journey.

5. Eligibility for Benefits:

To ensure financial stability during their stay at New Ethos Nottingham, applicants must be eligible for housing benefits and have settlement status. Additionally, eligibility for resources to funds and universal credit is necessary to support individuals throughout their transitional period.

At New Ethos Nottingham, our updated criteria for supported temporary accommodation reflect our commitment to maintaining a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all residents. By carefully considering factors such as substance misuse, risk level, homelessness, demographics, and eligibility for benefits, we aim to create an environment conducive to personal growth, reintegration, and overall well-being. We invite individuals who meet the criteria to embark on a transformative journey with us, where they will find support, understanding, and opportunities for positive change.
